Course Aims
This course offers participants the opportunity to develop the knowledge, abilities and qualifications required to become competent Yoga Instructors, Trainers and Teachers and to provide them with the basis from they can deepen the study of Yoga philosophy and principles as well as the science and art of Yoga techniques. Successful graduates will be able to pass on Yoga methods to their students, so as to help them understand the true essence of Yoga, to improve their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Course Contents
Yoga teachers should be faithful to the Ancient teachings, while being conscious of the modern developments in Yoga today. This requires studying and analysing the various traditional paths of Yoga in order to promote the invaluable qualities of suppleness and tolerance which have always been the prerogative of the Yogic thought.

- Introduction to relaxation technique (Yoga Nidra)
- Intermediate yoga anatomy and chakras
- The 4 Paths of Yoga including the 8 Limbs of Raja Yoga
- Putting together a yoga session
- Introduction to posture regression/progression
- Nutrition and Yoga (3 Guna )

Student assessment is ongoing and graduation is determined by successful completion of monthly assignments, two written examinations and a practical assessment of the student teaching a Yoga class.
Contact Hours: 160 hours
Participants will be physically in class with the instructor for 160 hours. In addition, 40 hours of non-contact or independent study hours may include assigned reading or other homework, non supervised study groups, observing yoga classes, etc.
